How To Join A House

Upon joining the Academy, students must walk through The Archway. This magical device contains fragments of the original arcane focus orb that Perenelle Flamel herself utilised. Upon passing beneath the archway for the first time, the pieces of orb embedded within the rock will glow silver, gold or bronze, representing Pegasus, Dragon or Phoenix. It is via this method that students are assigned to their respective houses.

It is very rare for The Archway to change a student's house, and has only happened six times in the last two centuries.
