Divination Referees

The Flamel Academy has a dedicated "Divination NPC" (played by Emma Harris) who should ideally be your first port of call for divination attempts. If they are unavailable for whatever reason, you may also ask one of the two Head Refs if they are available to assist.

Booking In A Divination Attempt (with no intended topic or target)

If you want to try a random attempt at divination, with no specific question, topic or target in mind, you may ask the Divination NPC for a 'fortune'. You will be given an OOC slip of paper with a vision on it, and may then roleplay receiving this information IC by using your divining abilities. Not all of these 'fortunes' will be accurate or relevant!

Please keep in mind that we have a limited number of these slips, and you may only request to see one of them per day. It is possible you will receive the same vision twice.

Booking In A Divination Attempt (if you have a intended topic or target for your attempt)

If you have something you wish to attempt to divine, you need to get a Divination Request Slip from the Divination desk or NPC. This is an Out-Of-Character slip of paper that asks for details of what you are trying to do. This should be submitted to the Divination NPC or a referee at least 30 minutes in advance of your attempt, so that the game team have sufficient time to prepare a response, information or SFX for you.

There are scenarios where on-the-fly divination can be overseen by a referee, but you may not receive a clear response instantly, as the nature of this skill sometimes requires the Ref to look up character information or background information and make judgement accordingly. We ask that players be mindful that we are not actual mind-readers or psychics, and need to to make 'seeing the future' happen!

The Uncertainty of Divination

Divination is an imprecise art. The images and information you receive can sometimes be interpreted various different ways, and sometimes is unfortunately entirely unrelated to what you were hoping to receive.
