The Flamel Academy - Since 1381
Perenelle Flamel, our founder, was a Magi of elven blood. Her life up until her marriage to Nicholas Flamel (a Norm) was largely spent in an attempt to search out others like herself, this being what led her to her husband due to the belief that he may be a magic-user. Before this time, it was very difficult for Magi to identify and seek out one another, so formal groups were very rare indeed. Determined to correct this, Perenelle Flamel used her personal resources to aid her husband in his research with the mentality that if it attracted her to seek him out, it may well attract others.
It did. In 1378, she was found by Myrna Rathmore and Magnus Highmore, two other Magi who had come across eachother by circumstance in the 1360s. The three of them together decided to continue Perenelle's goal of drawing their kind together, and thus The Flamel Academy was born, continuing to use Nicholas' works as a beacon to draw others to them.
Before this time, educational facilities for Magi were non-existent, and the first Flamel Academy was more of a research and social institution than a school. However, it set the groundwork for connecting a wider network of Magi. Indeed, Perenelle is credited as being one of those responsible for help to found the Magi community as a worldwide organisation.
Perenelle Flamel - An Inspiration
As a result of The Flamel Academy being set up, other Magi began to set up similar institutions in their own home countries. Most notable of these are the College for Sorcery and Ritualism in Germany, the Magi Education Community in Egypt, The House for Magical Knowledge in Japan, the College of Magic in the United States of America, and the Arcane School for Magical Arts in Italy. While other schools have been set up since, these are the most well-known and successful of them, which all of them having extended (much like the Flamel Academy), to incorporate locations covering preparatory, primary and higher education.
The Flamel Academy - A Move to Great Britain
After faking her death in 1397 due to not wanting questions being asked of her age (as is common with many Magi blessed with longer lifespans), Perenelle decided to move the Academy to Great Britain and expand her operations so that a greater number of Magi of different ages could receive education and interact with others of their kind. As with all other institutions, she struggled to find those willing to join, as Magi communities were beginning to form who felt that magic should be a more natural progression rather than be taught in a structured or controlled way, a mentality that still exists to this day. However, she persisted, and was able to set up the three tiers of The Flamel Educational Community, consisting of primary, middle, high and higher education facilities.

Perenelle Flamel - Member of the International Magi Parliament

In 1478, the first iteration of the International Magi Parliament came into creation, and Perenelle Flamel was one of the few individuals put forward to represent the interests of Magi in Great Britain and Ireland. She held the position until her death in 1492, and to this day is still regarded as one of the greatest MIMPs to hold the position. She was instrumental in the extension of the IMP to involve a greater number of member countries, was vocal in her believe that Giant Blooded Magi should be included as equal to other Magi (which was successfully agreed upon in 1489), and helped with the writing of the Immutable Laws.

Of Unknown House
Many students and alumni have asked as to which house our founder was a part of, and we've never been able to accurately answer, until recently. Thanks to notebooks found hidden within the old Academy in Paris, we have discovered that Perenelle was the first person to test The Archway and, according to her self-written report, all three houses lit up for her at once.
Needless to say, while this is wonderful information to discover, it is also not entirely surprising. It does, however, confirm our beliefs that the Flamel Houses are iterations of the personality traits of our great founder.
OOC: GENERAL NOTES

- The game is set in real-time
- The world history is basically the same from a Norm perspective
- Some magical shit has happened that I'll make up and write here
- I'll inevitably be asked really obscure background questions, need to make up the answer on the spot, then have to also add that here.
Cheers!
