There are a set of circumstances that make Urnslarn's Cluster a league apart from the various archipelago's across the world. These all stem from the sliver of a portal into one of the planes that is controlled and maintained by the Monitors of Chaos, the Proteans. Much like the psychopomps that make up the Monitors of Death, the Proteans carefully conduct the powers of chaos to ensure that what must come to pass does so.
Many will see chaos as a negative thing but in the eyes of the Protean it consists of evolution. Adaption in the face of threats, the creation and extension of language, and freedom in every sense of the word. Freedom can even move the lands.
As such, Urnslarn's Cluster is an archipelago that rotates around a massive whirlpool and is a land where the impossible thrives. It is sought out by researchers to conduct unusual experiments beyond even the magics of Salaphir, and where many explorers come to seek herbs and flora that can be mixed to create wonderful new concoctions. You must really make the most of your time here when you do come to visit, however, because once you leave your camp you can never be sure it'll remain in the same place for long. That is, if you end up here on purpose. The moving landscape means that it is all too easy for a ship to accidentally find itself rammed into the shoreline.

The Lepidoptina, the Mothfolk are the oldest known ancestry that is scattered around the islands of the Cluster. Those who end up not fitting their caste have been marked by chaos, in their eyes.
-
The Assembly are the Merfolk under the Cluster. Able to walk upon land by shifting their tails into legs, they have made their noble houses known across the Cluster to ensure that the glories of their won war are understood and their birthrights in their Houses respected.
Notable Ancestries:
Two notable Ancestries present in Urnslarn’s Cluster are;
-
Chaos Touched have no unified name. They are simply people touched by the chaotic energies of the Cluster or have found themselves at one of the Fleshforges - pockets of chaotic magic that can twist one’s own biology. They are mutatagenic and unified in the concept of glorious evolution, and to push the power of chaos into malleable goals.
-
Castaways are simply whoever washes up. While the world is diverse, it is difficult to beat the Cluster in the combined cultures and persons that can be present in one place.
