It used to be "Don't go out at night" in the nation of Salaphir, these days it's more "Don't go out at night with either a fully charged wand or a smooth talker." The land of Salaphir was long ago negotiated for the terms that operate around its inhabitants between the Fae Courts and the Mortal World.
Salaphir in the modern time is a marvel. The grand cities are fuelled by tremendous wide magic that operate their very own biomes in their walls. With the perilous deserts outside, it can be shocking to walk into Mulmera and be met with snow, or the Mangroves of Lespara. Floating towers, water that shifts colours, marvels and delights are common sights in Salaphir and they were introduced initially as a necessity. Cities full of magic, full of rites and rules, were set up in order to protect its inhabitants from the Fae. Magic was developed as a survival tactic, and honed once the Humans realised they could raise the victims of going out of the cities after dark.
Now humans have gotten cocky and, now allied with the Alnuha, they've come to make many Fae bargains and loopholes that mean their cities have grown grander, and importantly safer, than ever. Magic in many of its arcane, necromantic, and psionic forms has been mastered in Salaphir. After all, when the risen dead can do the mundane jobs then what's stopping endless study time?

Egyptian deserts with cities that have their own biome. Magic focused technology and careful words in the face of possible fae across the sands.

Main Ancestries:
The two main Ancestries of Salpahir are;
-
Salaphites, Living and Undead. Once the Humans of Salaphir realised they could protect themselves against the Fae they have grown exponentially. Undead skeletons and husks tend to the mundane roles of the day to day so that the Living can learn and study further. However, some of the Living choose to embrace Undeath for many reasons.
Notable Ancestries:
Two notable Ancestries present in Salaphir are;
-
Alnuha, Satyrs of the Deserts in the form of antelopes or stranger bovidae in a variety of short purple to crimson coloured furs. The Alnuha form the bridge between the Salaphite Humans and the Fae.
-
Nahrvish believe in no Gods, only Kings. The crocodilefolk control the rivers, dividing themselves as Princes of sections of the rivers of Salaphir. In the deserts, water is sought for survival by travellers and the Principalities get richer in one form or another off their needs.
